Aylesbury Town Councillor for Oakfield Learn more
by Mark Willis on 20 June, 2012
While out for a walk today delivering the Bedgrove Focus, I came across the roadworks being carried out along Long Meadow and about time too, the only problem I have with these necessary works is that they don’t go far enough, like much of BCC work they are not going far enough as they are only partially resurfacing Long Meadow from Brentwood Way to New Meadow, if the information I have is correct.
In town BCC are resurfacing the Walton St roundabout which is desperately needed, that surface had soooo many lines drawn on it pointing out faults and utilities that I thought it was a Turner prize entry, BUT they are only resurfacing the carriageway heading out of town towards the gyratory, anyone coming into Aylesbury and particularly cycling will continue to suffer from the years of Tory underinvestment in our roads, while those leaving will get a smooth safe ride, I’m sure there’s a subliminal message here somewhere!
T’was ever thus, a half baked job from a half baked council.
